The EXEDY Mitsubishi EVO 8 Street / Race Twin and Triple Plate Clutches are designed for high torque capacity with "reasonable" streetability.

The friction facing material is cerametallic to bundle the abuse of highly modified engines. Again, with all cerametallic clutch systems, some chatter should be expected on low rpm startups.

Exedy is featuring a single spring damper for both discs, this clutch design has strap lift and drive for both the pressure plate and the intermediate plate. A patented system evenly lifts both the main pressure plate and the intermediate plate providing a "clean" release for steetability. The EXEDY Street / Race Plate Clutch also includes a lightweight billet chrome moly steel flywheel for maximum performance.

The Exedy triple plate clutches are rated for above 500TQ to 600TQ @ FW. The triple plate clutches are rated for up to and over 800TQ @ FW (for drag race applications). Twins come with both spring damper discs and solid discs. Triples are all solid discs and not recommended for road use.

Engine modifications e.g. cam-timing-turbo modifications etc. cause engine pulsation and vibrations. These vibrations can cause clutch rattle when the clutch pedal is depressed by movement on the intermediate separator plate in some applications. These noises will in no way affect the performance of the Exedy Multi Plate Clutch. This rattle is well accepted in the performance industry where engine modifications have been carried out.
